German car maker Audi announced plans to almost double sales in Russia by 2015 – like many other companies Audi is sizing up the the developing markets estimating the growth potential.
By the end of 2009 the company expects to sell 16 500 cars in Russia, while in 2015 the sales volume is seen to come in about 30 000 cars, Audi executive board member responsible for sales and marketing, Peter Schwarzenbauer, said in an interview.
The BRIC countries have become of higher priority for the car maker. E.g. Indian sales are expected to go up from current 1650 per year to 2 000 in 2010, in Brazil Audi's sales are to rise from 2 300 to 5 000 vehicles in 2013.
