The MAN Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles, engines and mechanical engineering equipment, is set to launch truck production in Russia, reports Suddeutsche Zeitung. Now the company is in talks with a number of possible partners, Håkan Samuelsson, Chairman of the Executive board of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, said.
If things go well, first trucks produced under MAN brand will roll of the production line in two years. The company may use the Brazilian plant in Resende as a model for a new production facility in Russia.
It is reported that MAN will start construction of its Russian plant if the demand for expensive trucks increases after the crisis. Currently MAN trucks are imported to Russia from Poland.
