Whistle Toys of the World Brought Together in Moscow

Visitors of the First International Exhibition Whistle Toys of the World. History and Modern Times will see these musical toys from all parts of the world.
      The organizers of the exhibition the Russian Foundation of Folk Arts and Crafts tell about the thousands-year old history of the whistle toys.
      In ancient times sound-making ceramic items served as a means of communication and were used in religious rituals. Later the whistle became a music instrument and a childrens toy.
      The exposition covers the period from the 16th century to present days. The visitors will see toys from archeological finds, as well as artists works and exhibits from private collections from abroad.
      Master-classes and excursions will be held during the exhibition for visitors.
      The exhibition runs from October 27 to November 28, 2009 at the address: 7, Leontievsky Pereulok (from Pushkinskaya, Tverskaya, Chekhovskaya or Arbatskaya metro station), Moscow.
