Exhibition of Hagiographical Icons Open in Andrei Rublyov Museum

An exhibition of Russian hagiographical icons of the 15th- early 20th centuries runs currently in the Andrei Rublyov Central Museum of Old-Russian Culture and Art.
       For the first time ever the museum staff have managed to bring together 70 hagiographical icons from different collections, which create awareness about the richness of this genre of church art in Russia.
      The exhibition that gives an idea about the wide reading range of the man in the Old Rus, embodied by icon-painters of various centuries has been titled The Word and the Sacred Image.
      The exhibition will be open for public from October 31 to January 31.
