Museum of Singing Art to Appear in Petersburg

The country’s first museum of singing art will be opened in Russia in the near future. This was reported by the People’s Artist of the USSR Vladislav Chernushko, the art director of the State Academic Choir of Saint Petersburg, which will undertake for the creation of the museum.
      
      The visitors of the exhibition will be introduced to the history of origin and development of choir singing in this country, and learn about its influence on Russian art. Mr. Chernushenko emphasized, that the museum will help to revive the culture of choir singing that has considerably suffered recently.
      
      The art director of the Petersburg choir pointed out, that he had been inspired for opening of the exposition by his meeting with the dean of the Church of Annunciation. The museum is expected to be open for visitors as soon as the next season. The exposition will be housed in the building of the Choir.
