ART-Moscow, the biggest fair of Russian modern art will open in the Central House of Artist on September 23rd. This year it is included into the parallel program of Moscow Biennale.
Forty galleries, mainly Russian ones, have been selected to participate in the art fair. Almost all leading Russian galleries will be represented in one venue. Out of Western galleries there will be Diehl+Gallery One (Berlin, Germany), a branch of which works in Moscow, Ernst Hilger Gallery (Vienna, Austria), Knoll Galleries Vienna-Budapest (Vienna, Austria - Budapest, Hungary), Ravenscourt Gallery (London, England), and others.
In addition to that, Proun Gallery with Konstantin Grigorishin will show, for the first time in Moscow, works by Peter Doig, one of the most remarkable contemporary artists, whose retrospective was recently a success in the Tate Gallery.
Project “Universam”, an alternative forum selling modern art, will be launched alongside with the fair in Moscow. In the framework of the Moscow Biennale the forum will run from the 23rd to 27th September in the house of Izvestia publishing house in Pushkinskaya Square.
