Russian cell-phone tycoon arrested and released on ₤100 000 bail in the UK

Evgueny Chichvarkin, the co-founder of Russia's largest cell-phone retailer Yevroset, was released on ₤100 000 bail after he had been arrested by London police.
      
      "Former Euroset owner Chichvarkin was detained in London on September 7, by request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office. He faced Westminster Court on the same day, and was released on bail pending extradition hearings," said Andrey Nesterenko, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman.
      
      The enterprenuer made no comments on his arrest, but promised to celebrate his birthday (Chichvarkin turned 35 on the 10th of September).
      
      Evgueny Chichvarkin fleed to the UK in the end of 2008. Soon after that he was put on the international wanted list under the case concerning kidnapping and extortion. The Russian investigagting authorities suspect the businessman of kidnapping Andrei Vlaskin, the firm's shipping agent, who was earlier charged with seizing a huge shipment of mobile phones.
