A monument to Chocolate unveiled in the town of Pokrov

The unique monument to chocolate was unveiled in the town of Pokrov (Vladimir region) on the July, 1. The initiator of such an unusual monument is the administration of the Kraft Foods factory, working in the Russian market for 15 years, which is situated in Pokrov. We like giving gifts more than receiving them: with such a slogan the company presented a monument to the town in honor of its quindecennial.
      
      20 artists from Vladimir and St. Petersburg participated in the competition, offering their projects of a monument. As a result, the project of Ilya Shanin, the sculptor from Vladimir won. Ilya Shanin is the winner of the European sand sculpture competitive tender; his works are represented in Germany, Austria and Belgium.
      
      The 3-meter bronze monument images a Chocolate Fay. It stands in the mini-park nearby the Pokrov Museum of Chocolate. Working at the statue, the artist was wondering, why such a monument doesnt yet exist. Nevertheless his Chocolate Fay seems to become the first one.
