Robotic Chess Player Created

Unique robotic chess player was recently demonstrated in Moscow. The idea belongs to father of famous Russian chess player Alexandra Kostenuk.

In order to create a robot, able to play chess without any help from a human being and beat the strongest chess players of the world, Russian engineers used most recent technologies in artificial intelligence and machine building.

The robot does everything itself – moves chess and sets chess clock – and can play “shotgun game”, when each participant has only 5 minute to play the game.

Such robots existed before only in science fiction. All previous attempts to build an automatic chess player failed or remained amateur.
