Implant to Restore Nerve Tissue
Stem cell

Russian scientists together with businessmen developed a matrix for carrying stem cells, which is biocompatible with human tissues.

The matrix, implanted in damaged spinal cord, helps recovering nerve tissue. The innovation is also useful in treating various injuries, since its cells feel very good on human organism and can assist in growing skin, bones and organs.

The matrix is a polyion complex of natural origin, coming from arthropod dwellers of ocean bottom; other components are collagen and animal protein.

The innovation was tested on rats and showed nerve tissue recovery. Three more years of laboratory testing are required for getting permission of this technology to be used on human beings.
