Black-and-White Films about War to be Coloured by Victory Day

Two Russian film masterpieces initially shot black-and-white will soon be demonstrated in colour.
      
      Russian television audience will get an opportunity to watch the legendary Seventeen Moments of Spring (Semnadtsat mgnoveniy vesny) in colour - the series will be broadcast from 4 to 8 May on the Rossia Channel.
      
      The colouring of the series about Stierlitz took three years of work of 600 people in several countries. The work was held under the guidance of the film director of the series Tatyana Lioznova, who turns 85 this year.
      
      On May 9, the Victory Day, The First Channel will broadcast the colour version of Leonid Bykov's film Only Old Men Are Going to Battle (V boy idut odni stariki). It is known that Bykov wanted to shoot this picture in colour, yet he was not provided with the coloured cinefilm.
