The ‘grandfather’ of Russian rock music, the frontman of Mashina Vremeni band Andrei Makarevich, has opened Russia’s first professional rock music school «The Road» in Kazan.
      
      On this occasion the future pupils arranged a true rock concert, with Makarevich himself among the listeners.
      
      The school is intended for 120 pupils. The teaching process will include meetings with famous Russian rock musicians, holding workshops and in-depth trainings, as well as cooperation with similar educational institutions abroad.
      
      By the way, the Mashina Vremeni band celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. According to Andrei Makarevich, now the well-known Russian rock musicians, such as Sergei Shnurov, Vyacheslav Butusov, Boris Grebenshikov, the bands Uma Turman and Mumiy Troll are recording a special album with covers of Mashina Vremeni’s songs.
      
      “I hope by December we will also make a record including some of these bands along with our new stuff” - Andrei Makarevich informed.
