Members of the Russian blogosphere presently discuss the idea of setting up a monument to the Russian revolutionary woman Fanny Kaplan who gained notoriety after her attempted assassination of Vladimir Lenin.
One of the bloggers came up in the popular community ru_politics with an offer to collect money and set up a monument to Fanny Kaplan as to a person who could have changed the world. “I am not going to discuss whether it was she who shot or not, but let it be a monument to the person who dared such a deed. A lot could have been changed” – he writes.
The suggestion provoked controversy among the bloggers. While some of them did not deny such a possibility, others claimed that such an initiative could fall under the criminal code, in particular, the article about public appeals for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism.
