The Kolomenskoe Museum Reserve, Moscow, is going to host the Sand Sculpture World Championship for the second time.
On the 30th of April sculptors from Denmark, India, Spain, Czech, Ireland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, the USA and Russia will start creating three-meter figures on the subject of Great Attainments of the Mankind. On the 2nd of May the exhibition will be open for visitors, and on the 7th of May the jury will announce the winners. The Audience Choice Award will also be given.
Children’s sand sculpture contest will take place in a separate big sandbox.
The opening and awarding ceremonies will be attended by representatives of Moscow government and embassies of the partaking countries.
The exhibition will run till 5 October 2009.
