General Motors has restarted Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Antara producing lines at its Russian plant in St Petersburg.
The plant was halted on the 31st of May, 2009 with some employees sent on forced leave, while the rest were undergoing training on Chevrolet Cruze assembly.
Under the existent plan 2000 vehicles were to be assembled at the plant till May, but due to suspension in production and short working week it is impossible to implement the plan as scheduled, the spokesman for the plant said.
Next time the management of the company will idle the Russian plant for 20 days in summer, starting the 8th of June.
