Gazprom Enters North America Gas Market

Gazprom and Royal Dutch Shell signed an agreement on gas supplies to California on Wednesday this is the first time the Russian gas monopolist will operate on the North American market.
      Under the current agreement, Gazprom plans to expand business in the USA and the first step is to start shipment of liquefied natural gas to South California via Gasoducto Bajanorte and North Baja Pipelines.
      As agreed, Royal Dutch Shell and Gazprom will buy LNG (1 million tonnes per year each) from the Sakhalin II project over 20 years.
