The Federal Tax Service accomplished a regular inspection of the company’s records as of 2002 and issued a bill on unpaid tax of 372.15m roubles, or $13m. Andrey Braginsky, in charge of investment issues from MTS, said the company acknowledges only 21m roubles, or $750,000.
The rest of the back tax bill has been brought unjustly and the company sent its complaint to one of the commercial courts. The company’s management said they had open issues with the tax service before but managed to come up with a solution and avoid public statements.
