Norilsk Nickel to set up airline carrier

After three years of thinking Norilsk Nickel has revived plans to establish its own airline company (Taimyr) under with $10 million invested in 2009.The sum of $3 million has already been appropriated for the project, the representative of the company said. The new airline company has got a branch a Moscow.
      
      To perform flights between Moscow, Norilsk and Krasnoyarsk Taimyr plans to get three Boeing 737-800 planes under the leasing scheme.
      
      Currently the fleet of Taimyr airlines consists of 17 helicopters, 4 of them belong to the company. Norilsk Nickel holds a 68% stake in the new air carrier; the rest is controlled by the municipal administration.
