Russian car-maker AvtoVaz got back to work on the 2nd of February after long New Year holidays. Despite the new short time schedule the company introduced in an attempt to reduce wage costs, AvtoVaz plans to make about 32 000 cars. The staff not engaged in manufacturing process will be sent on mandatory paid leave (2/3 of month salary).
The short time schedule doesn’t apply to the employees involved in assembling all-wheel-drive Lada cars – they are always in demand on the Russian car market, the representative of the company said.
