Italian Taxi driver Massimiliano Vitale demonstrated an unheard-of honesty when returned a bag left by Russian tourists in his car. The bag contained credit cards, documents and ?9000 cash. Having detected a valuable thing under the seat of his car, Vitale drove back to the hotel in the centre of Florence, where the forgetful passengers were staying, and handed the find over to a hotel clerk.
      The passangers and the local authorities anxious about the reputation of the region thanked the responsible driver.
      
      It is interesting that in May of 2008 a taxi-driver from the UAE was given a bonus for being honest after he returned 9.5 kg of gold jewelry and US$40 000 left in his car to the owner.
