Two KAMAZ trucks piloted by Russia's Vladimir Chagin and Firdaus Kabirov are leading the Dakar-2009 international motor rally following eight legs of the race.
Chagin's truck sits second in the overall standings, almost six minutes behind fellow Kamaz trio Firdaus Kabirov, Aydar Belyaev and Andrey Mokeev.
On Sunday the Russian crews came second and fifth in the race from the cities of Valparaiso and La Serena in Chile. Netherland's Gerard de Roy on his Ginaf truck was first. However, Kabirov, and Chagin are taking the two leading positions in overall standings. Dakar-2009 rally will finish in Buenos Aires on January 18th.
