Georgia will take part in the annual international song contest Eurovision-2009 that will be held in Moscow May 1-16. This was reported by Natiya Uznadze, the Georgian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2008 Russian singer Dima Bilan became the Eurovision winner and Moscow was appointed the next location for the contest. That turned to be the political reason why Georgia refused to participate in Eurovision after the armed conflict in South Ossetia in August.
The European Broadcasting Union repeatedly asked Georgia to change their mind. As a result Georgia has decided to propose a contestant for Eurovision. The contestant’s name will be announced after a selection tour.
