Rostov archeologists have found a fully intact grave of a Maeotae man, a worshipper of Sun God, at Kobyakovo ancient settlement.
The man’ tribe had come from Kuban River and settled here as far back as the 1st century AC. When gong to the after-world the ancient man took a horse and two calves with him. Closer to the wooden burial vault there were fragments of a sword and a bronze clasp of a cloak. The experts assume, these objects are evidence of a robbery.
The Maeotae thieves were presumably looking for gold, but they did not touch the dishes for taking water and food. Archeologists have found a set of vessels: a jug and a bowl of local production, and a jug imported from Roman province.
Though archeological expeditions have carried out works on this site since 1950s, this imported vessel is the first find of the kind. It tells about trading relations of the local population with their foreign neighbors - future Italians.
