Russian authorities cannot rule out the possibility of banning GPS from using on Russian public transport.
Today any navigation systems, including GPS, are allowed for using on vast Russian territories. However, during recent meeting on space industry, government representatives said that they planned to ban GPS navigation system from being used on municipal and public means of transportation.
Russian authorities also mentioned the draft law “On navigation activities in Russian Federation”, which will be submitted to Russian State Duma before the end of 2008.
