Moscow transportation system is prepared to launch the first high speed tram in the northern part of the city. At the moment the Russian side is negotiating the project with Siemens AG. The max speed of the new tram will be 80 km/h.
      
      Introducing the high speed tram system is feasible in the districts not included in Moscow underground development plan. The routes will mainly run on surface and are designed to be fully separated from car traffic and pedestrians.
