Jupiter

Russia, Europe and the United States are getting ready for sending their spaceships to Jupiter in next 10-12 years.

International project on studying Jupiter becomes more real every day. Russian scientists say that three independent expeditions will head for the giant planet in 2012-2020, moreover, European space agency is going to send even two satellites, one of which will stay on the safe high orbit.

The flight from Earth to Jupiter will take about 6-7 years. Europeans plan to study Jupiter first, and then to transfer the spaceship to Ganymede’s orbit in order to explore Jupiter’s satellite.

NASA plans to study another Jupiter’s satellite, Europe, by means of traditional remote methods. In its turn, Russia expects its space mission to include landing of the space vehicle on Europe’s surface.
