In the late September - early October archeologists of the Altai State University finished field works in the Bolshoy Yaloman River Valley of the Ongudai Region.
In the course of examination of the archeological monument Yaloman-II they discovered remains of a bridle, a saddle, a quiver with numerous arrows and an iron sword in a sheath.
However, the major find was the iron cuirass (late 4th-early 5th cc) made of separate plates and ‘caked’ from corrosion. Rather well preserved were even the leather straps fastening together the complex construction.
Thanks to this unique find, archeologists got an opportunity to objectively restore the system of manufacturing and exploitation of the armature of the mentioned period.
