Russia is likely to stop issuing visas for citizens of Georgia after the Georgian President unilaterally cut diplomatic relations with Moscow, the representative of the Russian ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.
Tightening visa regime will make life of people having relatives in both countries even more complicated.
Russia’s decision to recognize South Ossetia and Abkhazia as independent states caused evident reaction of the Georgian administration – all Georgian diplomats will be shortly recalled from Moscow.
Yesterday Georgia tightened visa requirements for Russian citizens, who will have to apply to the Georgian consulates instead of obtaining visas right at the border as it used to be before the conflict.
