Georgia-South Ossetia conflict has not had that disastrous impact on foreign tourists’ wish to visit Russia, which was expected. The vast majority of travel-makers in Russia are Americans, who are not going to give up their plans. The main reason is that all tours for September have been prepaid and cancellation means high fines for tourists.
      
      
      Nevertheless, the number of foreigners willing to visit Russia decreases year by year. Last year about 2 214 thousand foreigners took a trip to Russia – 8% less than the year before. At the same time almost 9 million Russians made other countries their holiday destination in 2007. Specialists mark the Russian regions are not sufficiently observed in terms of tourism and surely lack decent hotels and reliable tour operators.
