Russia mourns for the dead in South Ossetia

Today, August 13, is announced the Mourning Day in Russia for the humanitarian disaster in South Ossetia.
      
      Russia is grieving for the dead in South Ossetia and expresses condolence and sympathy to the families and relatives.
      
      The document signed by the Russian president says that the Georgian side had committed genocide against South Ossetian people, it had nearly demolished the capital town of Tskhinvali and some small towns and villages, what caused the “humanitarian catastrophe in South Osetia”.
      
      At least 1,600 civilians, 13 Russian peacekeepers are believed to have been killed and about 150 people are wounded during five days of violence. More then thirty four thousand people have left South Ossetia and become refugees.
      
      In accordance with the Mourning Day Russian fags will be flown at half-mast throughout the country, the entertaining programs on radio and TV are advised to be called off.
