Writer Anatoli Pristavkin Passes Away

Russian Presidents Counsellor on Issues of Pardon, the well-known writer Anatoli Pristavkin has died, aged 78.
      Anatoli Ignatievich Pristavkin was born on October 17, 1931 in Lyubertsy town of the Moscow Region. In 1952 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation College. He worked as an electrician, a radio operator, and an instrument tender. After serving the army Pristavkin entered Gorky Lterary Institute.
      The prosaic gained wide fame with his story Nochevala tuchka zolotaya (aka Children of the Storm) published in 1987. Anatoli Pristavkin, the author of 26 books, was a winner of the State Prize and many international awards.
