Antonov and Ilyushin Aircraft Banned in Sudan

Sudan President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir has sacked Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the country and banned flights of all Antonov and Ilyushin aircraft. This measure was undertaken after an Ilyushin-76 plane had crashed in Sudan killing four crew members.

It became the 4th largest air catastrophe within the last two months. President has ordered to form a special commission to investigate the accidents.

The Ilyushin-76 aircraft belonged to the private Sudanese company Ababiel. All of the four killed crew members are believed to be Russian.
