The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia considers that Ukraine unreasonably makes a fuss about construction of an object for chemical weapon destruction near the Ukrainian border. “Worries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine are non-issue”, as the press-service of the Russian MFA comments.
The Russian MFA reminds that in 2004 in accordance with a request from Ukraine Russia sent a note to the Ukrainian MFA with a detailed explanation concerning the aims and characteristics of the object constructed in the area of the Russian city of Pochep in the Bryansk Region. On the 29th of December 2005 the Russian side sent another note to Ukraine about the measures taken in order to provide ecological safety at the object near Pochep city.
“It is needed to mark once again that all works at Russian objects linked with chemical weapon storage are held in strict accordance with the Russian national legislation with the most consistent observance of all current norms and rules, in cooperation with competent and authorized international structures”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia clarifies.
