Russia Gets Rid of Chemical Weapons

Following the international obligations regarding presence of chemical weapons in the country, Russia has utilized 10.5 out of 40 tons of the poisoning substances the country has at its disposal, as head of the Federal Administration of Safe CW Storage and Destruction Valery Kapashin reports.
      
      “In the framework of the third stage of chemical weapon destruction, we have utilized 10.5 tons of poisoning substances. Undoubtedly, rhythmical financing can let us fulfil all obligations”, Valery Kapashin says.
      
      By December 2009 Russia has to destruct 45% or 18 tons of the chemical weapons. The complete fulfilment of obligations implies destruction of 40 tons of poisoning substances by 2012.
