Yesterday Perm Region welcomed Third International Symposium, dedicated to ice caves. The meeting got together many Russian and foreign scientists from Europe, South Korea and UNESCO officials.
The Symposium is organized by the Mining Institute of Urals branch of Russian Academy of Sciences and the University of Milan. Organizers hope that the conference would help researchers form different countries to solve the problem of including the Kungur ice cave into UNESCO’s list of World Heritage.
Participants will report on burning issues of global climate change and human impact on ice caves.
