The Moscow cinema Khudozhestvenniy will host an exhibition of child drawings by the famous film director Sergey Eisenstein.
Some of Eisenstein’s child drawings performed by him on separate paper sheets have already been included in exhibitions of his “grown-up” graphic works. However as a child the future film director had a habit of drawing in notebooks and this is why most of his early works cannot be displayed in original.
Nevertheless the organizers of the exhibition have arrived at a solution: they have made digital reproductions from the notebook pages, enlarged them, grouped 134 drawings by cycles and placed them in the foyer of Khudozhestvenniy cinema.
The exhibition will run during the film retrospective called Grown-up Children’s Cinema to be held in the framework of the festival Cherry Orchid from May 21 to 30.
