OJSC Megafon, a biggest mobile operator in Russia, plans to invest about 3 billion EUR ($4.616 billion) in expanding business in Iran, Director General of the company said.
      
      The company considers the Iranian market attractive for developing mobile communications. Iran surpasses Russia in terms of population growth rates and demonstrates economic stability, added the representative of Megafon.
      
      MegaFon International, a subsidiary of Megafon, is opening a representative office in Teheran, the capital of the country. The company intends to bid for a license to provide mobile communication service in Iran. At the moment Irancell and TCI are the only mobile operators in the country.
