Foreign football fans will be able to attend UEFA Champions League Final in Moscow on May 21, 2008, going through a simplified process of getting a Russian visa. In order to get a visa to Russia, fans will only need a passport, match ticket, and a visa application form.
Earlier Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov reported that football fans would not need a visa at all, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has refuted his statement. Reportedly, around 42.000 football fans are expected to attend the game.
Mayor called not to draw too much attention to the recent statement made by The Observer that said foreign fans were likely to encounter many difficulties during their trip to Moscow, including problems with getting a Russian visa.
Mayor ensures that Moscow is absolutely ready for hosting UEFA Champions League Final and that Luzhniki Stadium is one of the best stadiums in the world.
