Scientist from Saint Petersburg suggests building and launching an educational satellite for making digital data about changes, taking place on the Sun, available to the public.
Many satellites observe the Sun at the moment, however, the have insufficient resolution and other tasks to fulfill. Moreover, even for astronomers obtaining digital data on solar formations is a difficult mission.
Russian astronomer suggests a solution: launching a new space craft on the basis of a unified light space platform, designed for earth’s remote sensing. The satellite will broadcast data to special information centre for forwarding it to internet users.
The satellite will monitor changes in active and still formations on the Sun and variations in the star’s diameter and luminosity. Experts expect the device to be useful for students and scientists, studying physical processes in and on the Sun.
