Tallinn Street to be Named After Tarkovsky Film Character
Aleksandr Kaidanovsky as Stalker (1979)

One of the streets in Rottermann quarter in the centre of Tallinn may be named Stalker Street. This is the initiative of the Rottermann City OU Company, which is in charge of housing development of the area.
The builders want to name the street in honour of Andrei Tarkovskys same-name film produced in the late 1970s after literary work by the Strugatsky Brothers. Stalkers are the main characters of their famous novel Roadside Picnic. The shooting was carried out in the outskirts of the Estonian capital.
The above-mentioned part of the road has had no name at all. Now the city authorities are to decide upon the suggestion of the developer. The decision is expected to be made in the end of May.
