Domodedovo Gets Ready for A380 Landing

Domodedovo airport in Moscow has started the procedure of certification for accommodating A380 aircraft. The procedure is being conducted by the Russian and European aviation authorities. The process of certificate obtaining started after Singapore Airlines had requested a possibility of using Domodedovo airport as an alternative airfield for A380.

According to the Domodedovo press-service, within the nearest few months the airport is going to become the only in Eastern Europe appropriate for A380 accommodation. The press-service says that from the technical point of view the Domodedovo infrastructure already allows landing of A380 and now it is all about the formalities. They also mark that at the moment only 70 world airports have been certified for A380 aircraft accommodation, but factually – only two: in Sidney and Singapore.
