Russia may bring its troops to Kosovo to protect Serbs

The Serb leader Vojislav Kostunica ‘accuses using force against the Serbs, who are against creating a false state on the Kosovo territory’. He says that Serbia and Russia has started negotiating about the joint answer to stop all forms of violence against Kosovo Serbs.

In this respect Serbia may invite the Russian troops to the north of Kosovo, which is populated mostly by Serbs. Russia in this case will be represented as peacekeepers, undermining the authority of the NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping mission, creating potential for conflict, or heralding a partition of the territory.
