Moscow to Treble the Number of Hotel Rooms

At a recent press-conference of the Moscow Tourism Committee there were announced plans of the Moscow authorities to attract more foreign tourists to the city – up to 5 million tourists annually. In order to reach such number of tourists it is needed to treble the number of hotel rooms. 16 new hotels opened in Moscow in 2007. According to the data provided by the committee, it is planned to open 28 more hotels with 5.8 rooms, so that the total number of rooms will reach 186.5 thousand by 2010. At the moment 219 hotels operate in Moscow.
