Obraztsov Puppet Museum Celebrates its 70s Anniversary

The worlds biggest Puppet Museum founded by the organizer and unchallenged director of Central Academic Puppet Theatre Sergei Obraztsov turns 70.
Its first exhibits were puppets and antique instruments, among them barrel organs, from the private collection of the stage director, whom journalists dignified with the title of the wizard of puppet kingdom.
Later on the collection was replenished in the course of the theatres numerous tours across Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Some of the puppets were presented to Sergei Obraztsov, others were purchased specially for the museum, which now boasts more than four thousand exhibits from 50 countries.
