Hungary is joining the Russian gas pipeline ‘South Stream’. The assignment of the agreement is planed for 28 February.
Today during the visit of the Russian vice-president to Budapest, Hungary has claimed about its joining the Russian gas pipe line South Stream. The final agreement is to be signed on February 28 during the visit of the Hungarian prime-minister Ferenz Durchan to Russia.
Today Russia and Hungary have managed to discuss the draft of bilateral agreement on gas pipe-line building for gas transit through Hungarian territory. It has let Hungary to join South Stream and to a project on underground gas storage.
South Stream is planed to supply Russian gas to the South Europe starting since 2013.
The opportunity of Hungary’s joining South Stream was first discussed during the Russia’s prime-minister’s visit to Budapest in December 2007.
