Russia and Georgia to Resume Air Communication

As a result of yesterday’s negotiations between the Ministry of Transport of the RF and Georgia both sides have reached understanding concerning resumption of air communication between the two countries. However, this will happen no sooner than all Georgian airlines repay the debt to the Commission for Air Traffic Regulation.

As the Ministry’s press-release marks, in the course of negotiations the Georgian side was informed that regulation of the issues concerning the debt repayment is a ground for resuming air communication between Georgia and Russia.

The whole sum of debt that Georgian air companies are supposed to pay for air navigation services is around US$3 million.
