3rd Runway to Appear in Sheremetyevo Airport

Development of the project for construction of the 3rd runway in Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow is expected to finish this year. In this way, Sheremetyevo may become the only airport in Russia that has three runways.
      
      The technical and economical concept of the new runway has been sent to the Ministry of Transport of the RF for expertise. The experts will give a conclusion on this project in mid-March.
      
      The new runway’s length is to be 3200 meters, width – 60 meters; 420 hectares of land have been reserved already, but the experts claim that it is needed to reserve 900-1000 hectares to make the runway paid off as soon as possible. The project has been estimated at US$720 million.
