Russia doesn’t recognize Kosovo independence

Russia has denounced the unilateral Kosovo recognition and claims it is illegal. Still Russia’s view is getting more support with countries of ‘frozen conflicts’.

At the emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council Russia has demanded to regard the Kosovo independence, declared on Sunday, illegal and breaking the principals of the international right and the bases of the international relation system. Russia is to recognize Serbia within its former state borders.
According to Russia Kosovo is to set a dangerous precedent for Spain, Greece, Slovakia, Romania, Cyprus and some former Soviet republic.
