OCEAN-TV - a new Russian channel – has been launched recently and appears to be the first TV project fully specializing on programmes about the World Ocean and everything related to it. The channel features educational and entertaining programmes for amateurs and professionals, a kaleidoscope of documentary, theatrical and animated films as well as programmes about water sports, including diving and around-the-world trips.
      
      The channel developers say that after they had conducted a careful survey on all TV programmes devoted to water thematic and came to the conclusion that there was a considerable lack of information in this field. At the moment the channel is available in Russian to around 3 500 000 customers across the country.
