Mitsubishi Motors is going to build a new plant in the Russian Federation. The construction site is located in the Kaluga Region, which earlier attracted another foreign car-manufacturer, Peogeot Citroen.
      
      For almost a year Mitsubishi has been considering advantages of such regions as St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, the Pskov Region, but the final decision was favourable for the Kaluga Region.
      
      In September, 2007, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and Mitsubishi Motors signed a memorandum to create an assembly plant in Russia.
